Happy November!

Happy November! Today has been the perfect rainy and gloomy start to one of my favorite times of year. I love November because it means visits from friends who are normally far away, cold and rainy days that are always threatening snow, warm coats and mittens, and big dinners with friends and family. November also means NaNoWriMo! That’s National Novel Writing Month. My husband has been busily writing away this morning. I’ve instead given myself a different challenge: I will be blogging every day this month. I will likely only post once or twice a week, but I want to gather a nice bank of blog posts to last me awhile.

This month, I’ll start with some November favorites. These are just things I am loving right now or things that I’m looking forward to. You can follow me on pinterest to see even more of the things that I love: Micro Living Blog on Pinterest

November Favorites:

Favorite Album: Cageless Birds “Live at Home”

This is a music and service collective out of North Carolina. They recorded a live album in their home over a week. Rich vocals, intricate instrumentation, and heartfelt songwriting.

Favorite Verse: Colossians 3:12

With all the bundling up, I like to remind myself of the most important things to clothe myself with.

Favorite Detail: A simple rust-colored velvet ribbon to tie together silverware for all the entertaining I like to enjoy during November.

Favorite Scent: Henri Bendel Fig candle

I was shopping recently with a new friend and impulse-bought a Bendel’s travel candle. I couldn’t quite figure out why it was so expensive until I burned it. The scents are so complex and never heavy-handed or perfume-y. The fig is a such a nice alternative to all of October’s pumpkin and vanilla scented confections.

Favorite Dream: a rustic refurbished AirStream

My husband and I have been talking about buying a Sprinter van and customizing it for long trips. It seems a much more exciting alternative to buying a house again. I love nothing more than getting on the road and driving for hours at a time with my two best friends (husband and poodle).

What are you looking forward to this month? How are you staying warm and cozy when the temperature drops?
