Tiny Tips – Tidy Counters

Tiny Tips – Tidy Counters

We are all moved in to our new apartment and I just finished a very busy semester in grad school and am finishing my first semester in my new job! I can’t wait to have more time to blog. For today, I thought I would offer just a tiny tip to make your day just a little tidier.

My bathroom countertop has always been one of the messiest parts of my house. I’m almost always in a hurry when I finish up my hair in the morning, so I really have to battle to put back all the brushes, styling products, and the mess of clips and bobby pins littering the top of the counter. I also have a hard time finding a place for cotton balls, floss pics, and qtips. I’ve taken to looking in pretty unusual aisles for storage solutions

I found the above cute jewelry dish at Ikea a few years ago. I was using it for my bracelets and rings, but thought it worked much better as a catch all for little products like lip balm, hair oil, and these cute button bobby pins from my friend Nichole’s custom bow tie company Brown Swan.

I just upgraded the little apothecary jar in the background for a bigger glass one from Target. I store my cotton balls, qtips, and little floss picks neatly in this jar. I feel like this is a simple, stylish way to store random little items.

Even though it’s not a storage solution, I am loving this clear plastic cheapo mirror from Conair that I think I bought for about $5. It reminds me of those transparent lucite Louis XIV-style dining room table chairs. It’s a pretty look for not a lot of money.
Well, there you have it! I’m working on being a regular blogger come the end of the school year with more household and beauty tips and tricks. Take care!

How do you organize your hair clips and hair ties? Do you have any favorite mini size beauty products that you use every day?
