2014: Let’s Go!
New Year’s is one of my favorite times of year. It’s not just that January is my Birthday month or that winter is my favorite season. It’s the start of a new planner and a new calendar page that really gets me. How exciting!
I’m also pretty good at New Year’s Resolutions. It’s not that I’m the most disciplined person in the world: that I work out at the gym every day or cook meals from scratch every week. I really avoid those kinds of resolutions. My favorite kinds of resolutions are the little projects and tasks I like to check off throughout the year. Maybe I should rename New Year’s Resolutions “New Year’s To Dos.”
Just in case you’re wondering… Getting back on the blog bandwagon wasn’t on this year’s list! I just thought it would be a fun little distraction for me. I’ve been terribly busy with my new career and grad school, so this is a good way to do something simple and enjoyable.
This year’s list is as minimal as possible. I think I can handle these two tasks!
* Learn to skateboard
* Downhill ski
That’s it! I’ve been trying to find new ways to be active. After learning to swim last January and then ocean kayaking this past summer, I think I should expand my skills and do something totally new.
What are your goals for 2014? Doing anything special? Will you take the challenge, scrap your “resolutions” and make a to do list? I’ll keep you updated on mine.
Here’s to 2014! And here’s to you seeing more of me online this year. Let’s get started.
2 Corinthians 5:17
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”
